By default the install uses a self-signed certificate and requires a secure connection hence all the starttls. I'm very new to Linux (and have had a hard time so far) so my problem is just ignorance. I have downloaded Sophos for Linux, confirmed that it is in my Download folder with 'find sav-linux-free-9.tgz'. Then tried to install it using: 'apt install sav-linux etc' but it comes up with 'E: Unable to locate package sav-linux-free etc'. Follow the following steps to install and configure the software. Extact the files from the tar file.: tar xvf sav-linux-free-9.tgz Run the setup script.

By default Baruwa Enterprise Editions runs the ClamAV Anti Virus engineat SMTP time. You can on a per domain basis change this behaviour to haveAnti Virus checks run after you have accepted the message.

You can also ran additional Anti Virus Engines both at SMTP time withinthe MTA process and after accepting the message from within the scannerprocess.

The recommended approach is to ran Anti-Virus checks at SMTP time and rejectthe messages straight away.

Installation and Configuration

ClamAV

ClamAV is part of the base install and is configured to run by default atSMTP time. If you want to perform scanning POST SMTP time then you need toselect the ClamavDaemon under virus checks in the MailScanner settingssection of the interface.

Sophos

To install Sophos, download the AntivirusforLinux package from theSophos website. The software is free to download and use.

You need an additional 1GB of RAM to ran the Sophos Anti-Virus Engine.

Copy the tar file to the /usr/local/src directory on your server.

Follow the following steps to install and configure the software.

Extact the files from the tar file.: Free java installer for windows 10 iso.
Run the setup script:
The script will prompt you for information as follows.:

Press enter, until you get to the bottom of the License text.:

Type Y if you want to accept the license or N if not. If you enterN then the script will exit.:

Leave at the default and press enter.:

Type N and press enter.:

Press enter.:

Type s if you want the supported version or f for the free version.:

The script will perform the installation and setup. If all goes well you should getthe following message:

At this point you are now ready to configure the software. To do so run the following:
Create a wrapper script for SMTP Time scanning:
Make the wrapper script executable:
Add a custom MTA configuration overide for SMTP Time scanning (Skip if you want to scan after SMTP time):
Restart mailscanner for the above configuration to take effect:
To enable POST SMTP Time Scanning, select the Sophos under virus checks in the MailScanner settings section of the interface.

F-Secure

To install F-Secure, download the LinuxServerSecurity package from theF-Secure website. This commercial software so you need to purchase a license.If you do not have a license the software will work in evaluation mode for 30days after which it will cease to function correctly.

You need an additional 1GB of RAM to ran the F-Secure Anti-Virus Engine.

Copy the tar file to the /usr/local/src directory on your server.

Follow the following steps to install and configure the software.

Extact the files from the tar file.:

ESET

To install ESET, download the ESETforLinux package from the ESET website.This commercial software so you need to purchase a license.

You need an additional 512Mb of RAM to ran the Sophos Anti-Virus Engine.

ESET does not provide 64-bit packages so you need to install 32-bit compat packages:
Install the ESET rpm package.
To enable POST SMTP Time Scanning, select the ESET under virus checks in the MailScanner settings section of the interface.

F-PROT

There is a package available for F-PROT with in our repository.This commercial software so you need to purchase a license.

Linux Unzip Tgz File

To install the package run:
To enable POST SMTP Time Scanning, select the F-protDaemon6 under virus checks in the MailScanner settings section of the interface.

Step 1) Go to the Sophos website and download the latest copy of the Sophos Antivirus for Windows. You may have to accept their terms and provide an email ID during free registration.

Step 2) The downloaded package is a compressed archive file. It should look like sav-linux-free-9.tgz. The version number may be different based on when you download it. I’m assuming that the downloads are going here. In case it’s different in your case, navigate to it in the terminal using ‘ls’ and ‘cd’ command.

Use ls command to list all directories to know where to navigate.

Step 3) Use the cd command to go inside the ‘Downloads’ directory.

Step 4) Again, ls command to see contents of ‘Downloads’ directory.

Step 5) Use the tar command to extract the contents of the .tgz file. Replace the filename after -xvzf with your downloaded file name.

Step 6) You should see the list of extracted content in the Terminal. Use the ls command to see inside the extracted content.
